Beginner Guitar Lessons

The Nature of learning
In whatever pursuit we engage there will be a point where a level is reached and no further improvement is made.

All of us who have endeavored to get good at something would have experienced this. The experience of learning something new is a buzz, thrilling and exciting. Practicing is an exploration for knowledge, the search for perfection and personal development However you cannot get the same thrill out of learning the same thing over and over again. Once you have learnt it you have to find something new to learn to get the same buzz. As a result practice can become boring and tiresome, if this has been your pattern for a while you may even want to give up and try something new.

So what can we do if we are practicing the same old things day after day and don’t seem to be getting anywhere.

Here are a few tips

1. Stop what you are doing. If you are not getting anywhere you need to find a different approach. This is where your energies should be focused and there is no use bashing your head against a brick wall unless it is providing results. Don’t say you are “giving up”, have a break and come back to it.

2.. You a hunter on the quest for inspiration. It is the hardest thing to break habits, but to improve we must. As in music as in life. Push yourself to a brave new world where you are a beginner again, this is what’s required to move forwards

3. Have some lessons. You don’t have to enroll in a course, you may just need one or two to get some ideas or a fresh approach. There is nothing like one to one contact with a teacher to introduce new ideas.
